2017 successful applications announced!


On July 20th, 2016 a group of over 20 stakeholders met to talk about experiential tourism and the impact of creating tourist experiences on the visitor and promote Elora and Fergus.


Elora and Fergus surprises visitors with its heritage town charm and nature based experiences. The next step in the process is to collaboratively implement projects that continue to set Elora and Fergus as the stage. In order to create a truly unique experience for both visitors and residents, the Elora and Fergus Destination Animation Partnership Project has been established to enable feasible projects that are highly shareable and have high impact on the destination. Submissions need to clearly outline how each project will leverage social media sharing to help promote the event, and also enable social sharing in realtime by participants, thereby effectively marketing the destination by virtue of the experience itself. Social media metrics and reporting will be a key component of each final report.

For 2017, $13,000 was made available for proposals. Applications were for any amount from $500 up to $5,000. The Destination Animation Selection Committee has reviewed and awarded the proposals.

Applicants are welcome to submit multiple applications for different projects. The proposal application must be completed in its entirety. Proposals must keep in mind that failure to provide any requested information could affect the Selection Committee’s final decision regarding the project.
